Nakkia Grimes, LCSW, RPT-S
Director
I have been with NCG since June, 2008. I started out as a Community Based Counselor II, then became a clinical supervisor, and an Assistant Site Director at the Virginia Beach site. I obtained my B.S. from Old Dominion University and my MSW degree from Norfolk State University. I am in the process of becoming a registered play therapist, and have started the Crisis Stabilization Program for children and adults at the Virginia Beach site. I also enjoy reading and watching movies.
Victoria Ferguson, MSW, LCSW, QDDP
Clinical Supervisor
I rejoined National Counseling Group in May of 2022. I previously worked for NCG in 2017 as a Community Based Counselor. I received my B.A. in Sociology from Norfolk State University and a Master's in Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice from Walden University. I am currently working to obtain credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist and utilize play therapy interventions under the supervision of an RPT. I specialize in treating youth and adolescents, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, and grief. I utilize a person-centered, solution-focused approach to empower my clients to effect change in their lives.

Clinical Supervisor & Crisis Coordinator
I started my journey with NCG in 2009 as a Community Based Counselor in the Virginia Beach office. Since then I have provided services to clients as an Outpatient therapist, Crisis Coordinator and a Substance Abuse Clinician. I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and a MA in Community Counseling received at Norfolk State University, along with a second MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at South University. I’m certified as a LPC-R and CSAC-Supervisee in VA. I love helping others in need and being a vessel for change. I enjoy shopping and spending time with my family.
Renita Reid, MA, Resident in Counseling, QDDP
Clinical Supervisor
I have been with NCG since 2020. I started as a Community Based Counselor, then became an Outpatient Therapist, before advancing to Clinical Supervisor. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Norfolk State University, my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and am pursuing my PhD in Forensic Psychology from Walden University. I am a Resident in Counseling, pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. I specialize in treating youth, adolescents, young adults, and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities dealing with depression, anxiety, serious mental illness, relationship issues, self-esteem, life skills, social skills, and grief. I use person-centered and cognitive behavioral approaches to empower my clients to revive their lives.
