Meet the Staff

Nakkia Brickhouse, LCSW, RPT-S

State Director

I have been with NCG since June, 2008. I started out as a Community Based Counselor II, then became a clinical supervisor, and an Assistant Site Director at the Virginia Beach site. I obtained my B.S. from Old Dominion University and my MSW degree from Norfolk State University. I am in the process of becoming a registered play therapist, and have started the Crisis Stabilization Program for children and adults at the Virginia Beach site. I also enjoy reading and watching movies.

Robert Hernandez, MS

Site Director

I have been with the National Counseling Group since 2010. I began as a Community Based Counselor and moved into the Site Director role in May of 2013. I have worked in the Human Services Field for close to twenty years, starting in the correctional system and then transitioning into the community based environment. I have been a lifelong fan of the Michigan Wolverines and the San Francisco 49'ers, and I'm also actively involved in local youth recreational sports leagues.

Naeemah Jones, Ph.D.

Site Manager

I started my journey with NCG community in 2022. I obtained my B.S. degree from Old Dominion University, my M.S. degree from Walden University, and continued at Walden University, where I completed my Ph.D. degree in Clinical Psychology. I have been supporting and advocating for individuals with mental health for over fifteen years. I have extensive experience in clinical and counseling with a wide range of clients in various treatment settings, including a nonprofit community agency, a residential setting, and inpatient and outpatient facilities. I also have experience with psychological testing, which includes intelligence tests, aptitude tests, vocational tests, aptitude tests, and personality tests. I am ADOS-2 certified. When I am not working, I enjoy time with my family.

Karimah O'Garro, LE, MSW, QMHP-A/C

Clinical Supervisor

I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Norfolk State University and my Masters in Social Work from Walden University. I have over eight years of experience in various social work settings, including integrative mental/behavioral health, substance abuse rehabilitation, and long-term supportive medical services. I love finding innovative ways to help individuals in the community achieve better mental, physical, and emotional health. When I am not working, I take part in self-care by going on new adventures with family and friends.
