Meet the Staff

Site Director

I started with NCG in 2009 after finishing my Masters degree at The Ohio State University in Social Work. Both my parents are social workers and they instilled in me a joy in kindness, humility, inclusiveness, and serving other people. So, I love the work I get to do at NCG, as it is both meaningful to me and enjoyable. When I’m not working, you’re likely to find me playing sports or reading. One of my goals is to have a life from which I don't need a vacation and my favorite quote is by John Ruskin, "It is a good and safe rule to sojourn in every place as if you meant to spend your life there, never omitting an opportunity of doing a kindness, speaking a true word, or making a friend."

Clinical Supervisor

I am a clinical supervisor for both the Harrisonburg and Staunton offices of National Counseling Group. I came on board in April of 2009, as NCG identified the Shenandoah Valley as its next area for clinical development as the preferred provider to children and families in need of quality, comprehensive mental health services. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and bring many years of experience to our agency. I am certified in Art Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Trauma therapy for Child Observers of Domestic Violence. I am known in our community as working with the most treatment-resistant clients and achieving positive outcomes. I am proud to be part of the National Counseling Group family and am especially excited about the opportunity as a clinical supervisor to promote ethical, skilled-based treatment with evidenced-based results. In my spare time, my hobbies encompass reading, swimming, and travel.

Clinical Supervisor

I earned my Master Degree in Counseling Psychology from James Madison University in 2000. At that time I received my license from the Board of Education as a Professional School Counselor and worked in middle schools for nine years. However, I wanted to do more to reach the kids and help them with their mental health struggles. I decided to return to JMU to take additional classes and began work toward a license from the Board of Counseling. I achieved my LPC in 2010. I spent 6 years working with juveniles in the court system through the local community services board. I joined NCG in 2014 as a Clinical Supervisor for the Winchester site and transferred to the Harrisonburg site in 2018. I love working with kids and their families to identify the needs behind their problematic behaviors. Kids are our future. I want to help it be a great one!!!

Clinical Supervisor

I started working at NCG in August of 2018 as a TDT clinician. In January of 2019 I was offered the chance to work as a clinical supervisor at the Harrisonburg office. I received my Masters degree from Eastern Mennonite University in 2016 and have enjoyed the continued learning that comes from working in the field. I bring with me 10 years of experience working in mental health care. I have worked in both hospital and community settings with people receiving services ranging from psychiatric stabilization to outpatient counseling. I value and respect the tenacity of those I am fortunate to work with and for by continually regarding others as the experts of their experiences. I value an integrated counseling theory with particular emphasis on the importance of the family system, a person-centered process, depth and cognitive-behavioral theories. By understanding people from a variety of perspectives I hope to better meet them in ways that best serve their goals.

Clinical Supervisor

I have worked at NCG for 5 1/2 years as a Clinical Assessment Specialist and was so thrilled when the position was offered to me as a part-time Clinical Supervisor in April 2018.  I have loved being able to use my clinical skills to assess and diagnose individuals in order to help them obtain the services they need.  While I am at NCG about 20 hours per week, the other part of the work week I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in private practice.  What I love most about both of these positions is that it is a balance between supervising and working in the field with clients.  My favorite part of my work is meeting and talking to different people and hearing their stories.  I love working with children and their families and whole heartedly believe that it does, in fact, take a village to raise a child.   When I am not at work, I am home with my husband and two daughters.  My hobbies include scrapbooking, hiking with the family, and traveling.  I love seeing new places and the joy that my daughters have when they see something exciting.  I enjoy working at NCG and really feel as though my coworkers are part of a family and team.  I look forward to many more years at NCG and helping our agency provide the best care to our clients.
